Free Home Safety Survey for over 75's in East Dunbartonshire

In a new joint venture, Strathclyde Police and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, supported by East Dunbartonshire Community Safety Partnership are offering free Joint Home Safety Surveys to all residents within East Dunbartonshire who are over the age of 75.

Energy Efficiency Initiatives in Council Houses Help Reduce Carbon Footprint

Progress on the Council’s insulation programme for its council housing was reported to the recent Development and Infrastructure Committee. The Council is carrying out a number of energy efficiency initiatives across its Council houses in order to achieve the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) by 2015 and to reduce its carbon footprint.

Extension of 20 Mph Speed Limit, Wester Cleddens Road, Bishopbriggs

At its meeting last night, the Council’s Development and Infrastructure Committee agreed to make the existing temporary part-time 20 mph speed limit on Wester Cleddens Road, Bishopbriggs permanent.

Sports Hall Demolition Begins

The latest stage in the development of East Dunbartonshire’s new Local Plan (Local Plan 2), was reported to Council at its meeting on Thursday 22 April.

Council Agrees Bid for Further Funds to Build Council Houses in Kirkintilloch

At its meeting last night (Thursday 22 May 2010), East Dunbartonshire Council agreed to submit a bid to the Scottish Government for a share of the third tranche of funding for new council house building in the area.
